20 Jul Two men facing drug charges after searches in Annapolis homes

It can be alarming to open your front door and find police officers waiting on your doorstep. Often there is very little time to ponder what rights you have as they begin to search through your home. And what can police do with things they take from your home as a result of the search?
Two Annapolis men are currently facing serious drug charges after police searched their homes earlier this week. Police reported that thousands of dollars in cash, several weapons, and drugs were seized from the two homes. So how did these two homes become the focus of a police search?
Apparently there had been complaints from neighbors that led police to launch an investigation. But while the investigation resulted in the arrests of two men, it is still unclear whether the activities in the two houses are related to one another.
Regardless of whether the police continue the investigation, the two men already have a lot to think about. Drug charges of any kind can greatly impact an individual’s future. If convicted of a drug charge, penalties can include a jail sentence or a hefty fine. The conviction would also be on one’s permanent record and could present future challenges when looking for a job or a home.
Trying on your own to figure out how to defend yourself from drug charges can be a daunting task. However, it can be beneficial to speak with someone who understands the implications of a drug charge and can help you determine the best way to protect your rights and your future.
