When an individual in Maryland faces criminal charges, there are serious life changes at stake in the event that he or she is convicted of the crime. For example, one may spend time in prison, pay hefty fines or have a mark on their permanent record as a result of a weapons charge. One man in Maryland is currently facing multiple charges that could affect his entire future if he is found guilty of the charges.
A 46-year-old man has recently been charged in Annapolis for allegedly robbing a gold business. Supposedly, the suspect used a box cutter as a weapon. He is currently in jail on an $85,000 bond.
The robbery took place at a business called Goldmax. Police say that the suspect entered the store wearing a mask and jumped over the store’s counter. He then purportedly put the box cutter up to the employee’s throat.
Officials allege that he took cash from the store before running out the exit door at the rear of the business. He was found and arrested the following day. The man has been charged with reckless endangerment, two counts of assault, theft, armed robbery and weapons charges.
Maryland residents find it helpful to note that individuals can be charged with committing an act of assault without actually physically harming someone. However, it is also possible that a weapons charge can be dropped or significantly reduced. In order to accomplish this, it often takes time and dedication to view all available legal options and potential repercussions in order to craft the best possible criminal defense and obtain the most favorable outcome.
