20 Feb Maryland man facing multiple drug charges after traffic stop

Each state has its own set of punishments for drug charges. However, drug charges are to be taken seriously just as much in one state as another. This is something one Maryland man may wish to keep in mind as he works toward a favorable outcome from the charges he is facing.
A 26-year-old man is facing multiple drug possession charges after a recent traffic stop. The man had reportedly been pulled over for a routine traffic stop. The trooper said that when he approached the man’s vehicle, there was drug paraphernalia in plain sight. He claims he informed the driver that there was probable cause to conduct a vehicle search.
Reportedly, the man fled the scene and was chased by police. He ended up crashing his car after losing control. After the crash, police were able to apprehend him.
Authorities were finally able to conduct the vehicle search. This reportedly resulted in nearly 41 grams of cocaine that were apparently wrapped to sell. In addition, police seized a dozen oxycodone pills. The 26-year-old was charged with drug possession on two counts, drug paraphernalia possession and the possession of drugs with the intent to sell.
Although a drug charge is not automatically a conviction, it is critical that Maryland residents understand the ramifications that a potential conviction can have on their future. For example, a conviction of drug charges can lead to issues gaining employment, various loan applications and much more. Therefore, one facing drug charges would likely do well to help prepare a criminal defense that focuses on the particular characteristics of their case in order to obtain the most favorable outcome.
