Weapons offense for man who allegedly robbed 4 banks

On behalf of Jack B. Rubin, PA posted in Weapons Crimes on Thursday, July 3, 2014.

Any criminal charge should be taken seriously regardless of how severe it is. With robberies, there are different types, which can result in different punishments in Maryland. For example, a robbery without a weapon, such as a gun, is less serious than a robbery with a weapon. In some cases, a person may be charged with armed robbery as well as a separate weapons offense. Recently, a Maryland man was charged with armed robbery.

The man was arrested in connection with multiple robberies that have occurred since December 2013. The most recent bank to be robbed was M&T Bank. The robber provided the teller with a note. The note supposedly implied that the robber was armed and demanded that he be given cash.

After receiving the cash, he reportedly fled the scene. However, he was apprehended a short time later. He was located by authorities behind a nearby shed.

The 45-year-old man who was arrested supposedly admitted to being the robber of the Kensington bank. He also allegedly admitted to robbing three other local banks. Now he is facing four separate counts of armed robbery.

When facing any type of criminal charge in Maryland, including armed robbery and a weapons offense, it is important for the accused individual to understand the details of the charge. It may also be beneficial to understand the potential consequences of the charge, if convicted. Every person has the right to defend themselves in a court of law and has the right to a fair trial; however, it can be a difficult thing to do alone. Assistance may be necessary to reach the best possible outcome in such a serious situation.
